I've been having a reaccuring dream that's been bothering me for a while. It starts off with an evil presence?

It gets closer and closer and finally evades my room. I hear either a very loud white noise like i was right next to the ocean and i could hear the waves crashing or a throaty sound kindof like the sound the girl makes in 'the grudge' i try to move but i'm paralzyed and i try to speak but i can't do that either. in my most recent dream i actually sat up from my bed with my arms outstretched but could not move other than that. when the dream ended i was still in the same position. does anyone have any information on this type of dream or had any experiences like this?
