My Friends are Mad at Me Because I Steal?

ok well today they found out i would steal small things from the local pharmacy or grocery store... but its not like i do it every single day and its not like the items are a million dollars. but its grown to be a habit.. whenever i see something i want im tempted to take it, but i dont. now they said theyre mad and lost all respect for me. and my other best friends whispers "stealer" everytime i p by. and my other friends who actually steal are mad at me for this whole other thing about some guy and now i have only like 1 best friend and another one that lives out of the state and another one which i cant even see because my parents dont like him! and the rest arent that close to me =[ i miss my friends. do they have a reason to be mad? i mean its not THEIR problem!
